or percentage allocation.  A gift through the BACF can benefit any charitable cause in Washington County, 
Nebraska as long as the receiving organization is either (a) identified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity 
(which is not a private foundation), described in sections 509(a)(1)-(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, 
(b) a governmental entity, or (c) a church.  For an approved list of local organizations go to the Organizations List  
section of this site.  Additionally, the receiving organization cannot provide anything of value to the donor 
in return for the donation.

Gifts to the BACF, a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization, are tax-deductible according to IRS regulations.  

The BACF reserves the right to modify any restriction or condition on the distribution of funds for any 
specified charitable purposes or to specified charitable organizations, if in it’s sole judgment such 
restriction or condition becomes, in effect, unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment, or inconsistent with the 
charitable needs of Washington County, Nebraska.
