Founded more than
118 years ago by Danish pioneers, Dana College is a
private, four-year, coeducational liberal arts college. Dana offers an extensive
academic program with more than 30 majors leading to the Bachelor of Arts, the
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and the Bachelor of Social Work
degrees. The Dana curriculum is designed to teach students to think critically,
communicate effectively, and act decisively.
The Eastern Nebraska Office on
Aging’s purpose is to preserve the
independence and dignity of older individuals through agency-wide community services that
help meet a variety of health, nutritional, and social needs.
Good
Tidings Preschool strives to help children grow and mature spiritually, as well
as emotionally, socially and academically. As a Christian preschool, they
help provide a solid Christian foundation for the youth of our community.
MOPS
(Mothers of Preschoolers) International is a non-denominational Christian
organization that reaches out to all mothers of children under school age.

The purpose of the
Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is the husbandry of the state's wildlife,
park and outdoor recreational resources in the best long-term interests of the
people.
The goal of the Growing in Grace Preschool program is to provide four and
five-year-old children with the opportunity to grow and learn through
interactions with adults, other children, and a wide variety of materials in a
safe and stimulating environment. As the name of the preschool suggests, this
program is based on Christian principles. Throughout the school year, efforts
are made to encourage the development of the child in all areas –
intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual.
For
87 years the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue Department has provided fire, and later rescue protection, to
the approximately 1300 families and businesses in our 67 square miles of fire
district. As the population in our area grows, we will continue to provide
a vital service to our community.
The Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to
girls, where in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character
and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adults,
girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives—like strong
values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self
worth. In the Girl Scouts, they discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls
together. Through the many enriching experiences provided by the Girl Scouts,
they can grow courageous and strong.
For over 50 years Good Shepherd has been "Caring for Generations"
providing quality Christian health care. Ministries include skilled nursing, a
dementia care unit, assisted and independent living apartments, and child day care.
