WE
DID IT!
The 2nd Century Forward Capital Campaign is
officially closed, three years to the month from when it started.
As of May 2010, our construction loan is now fully
retired, thanks to the generous support from within the active congregation and
from a number of donors with ties to our church.
A total of $511,427 was raised during the campaign, which was added to
$47,702 that was in the capital account at the start of the effort.
The total project cost of $559,129 covered design, construction,
furnishing and decorating. Thank you
to those who fulfilled their pledges and to those who stepped forward with added
donations during our final push.
We also want to thank the many
individuals who donated their time to help reduce the cost of the
project. Hundreds and
hundreds of volunteer hours went into project management, floor repairs,
carpentry projects, painting, rock wall building and other items.
Can you imagine going back two years to the smaller
sanctuary? Cramped fellowship hall
accessible only by a steep, narrow stairway?
Two tiny inaccessible bathrooms with no hot water?
Small gravel parking lot sporting a crop of weeds?
Inefficient furnaces? Every
week we now use the expanded and renovated space in many different ways – all
in furtherance of the glory of God.
If you still have an amount remaining on your original
pledge, your continuance to fulfill it will be greatly appreciated.
Future donations will go into the Capital Improvement Fund for
audio-visual equipment and kitchen modernization.
Project Complete.
