| 100 Good Women started about 15 years ago in
Lawrence, Kansas by two women who saw a need to help others in the
community by networking with women who have skills and resources to
share. www.100goodwomen.org |
How this Works
Individuals and families within the community sometimes turn to
existing agencies for extra help. As a supplement to this help, 100
Good Women can be called into action.
When a need within the community is
identified, a board member is informed of the details. The board
decides if the project is appropriate for the group to act upon. The
phone tree is activated to find solutions to fulfill the need by
engaging women to share time, concern, skills, and resources.
The board members gather for a one hour
meeting each month to review projects and provide direction. In
addition, all group members are invited to a potluck social twice
each year.
