Member Carter, Chairman pro-tempori, called the
organizational meeting of the Fort Calhoun Board of Adjustment to order at 5:50
p.m. Notice was published in the Pilot-Tribune and posted at City Hall, Team
Bank and the Post Office. The agenda packets were distributed to the Board
members in advance and the meeting is open to the public. A copy of the current
open meetings law is posted continually for public inspection on the bulletin
board in the Council Chambers/Library.
Member's Nelson, Tamisiea, Carter and alternate Welsh
answered roll call. Member Bolen was absent and Member Conrad arrived at the end
of the meeting.
Member Nelson made a motion seconded by Member Tamisiea to
appoint Member Carter as Chairperson. With members Nelson, Tamisiea and Welsh
voting "Aye", motion carried.
Chairman Carter called the Fort Calhoun Board of Adjustment
Hearing in session at 5:55 p.m., to hear appeals of for setback adjustments.
Notice of the Public Hearing was also posted for 10 days at both properties.
1. Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, Lots 3 & 4 in
Block 38, 123 North 13th Street, (19' variance) for proposed addition.
No written objections were received and there were no
public comments in opposition of the variance.
2. Zach Stephens, Tax Lot 101 (10-17-12), approximately ¾
mi. west of the city limits on CR 34, (20' variance) for single-family
residence.
No written objections were received and there were no
public comments in opposition of the variance.
There being no other business to come before the Board,
Chairman Carter closed the Public Hearing.
Member Welsh made a motion seconded by Member Nelson to
allow the 6' setback requested by the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church for a
proposed addition to their sanctuary, referencing State Statute 19-910(3) (a)
(c) (d) and (e). With members Tamisiea, Carter, Welsh and Nelson, voting
"Aye" the motion was declared carried.
Member Nelson made a motion seconded by Member Tamisiea to
allow the 30' (north) interior setback requested by Zach Stephens to erect a
home on Tax Lot 101 (10-17-12), referencing State Statute 19-910(3) (a) - (e).
With members Carter, Welsh, Nelson and Tamisiea, voting "Aye" the
motion was declared carried.
Member Welsh made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Member
Nelson. With all members present voting "Aye", Chairman Carter
declared the meeting adjourned.
