In Attendance: Judi Seaver, La Dona Schuler, Sue Newman, Dixie Humphrey

Visitor: Sheriff Mike Robinson from the Washington County Sheriff's Department

Judi reported that she is still waiting for the results of her request for cost proposals for new street banners. She will also pursue the procedures to obtain the new banners.

Ideas for future possible Eagle Scout projects are ongoing. The ideas will be put forth as the need arises.

Perusing a Tree City USA designation for the city was tabled until a later date.

LaDona reported that she has sent for and is waiting to receive more information about the Preserve America Community designation.

In discussing the Memorial Dedication Ceremony for Marshall Suverkrubbe:

Sheriff Robinson told us that the Fraternal Order of Police would provide, set up and serve a cake and coffee reception following the Dedication Ceremony.

Dixie told Sheriff Robinson that we had decided the date and time for the Ceremony to be Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. during "National Peace Officer Memorial Week, May 11 through May 17. In addition, the reception will be held at the Fort Calhoun American Legion Building.

Judi reported that she has met with Adam Neumann to plan a design and discussed materials needed for his landscaping project.

Sue will contact Scoutmaster Brian Carter concerning his part in the Eagle Scout project.

We also discussed the need for Adam to submit his Eagle Scout project to the City Council for financial approval. La Dona will contact his concerning this.

Dixie will contact Gale Maine about the decision to use the American Legion for the reception and the date and time, etc.

Dixie will also take care of notices for the Blair Newspaper to run twice before the Ceremony, encouraging public attendance that day.

LaDona will make sure there are plenty of extra folding chairs, should they be needed at the Ceremony.

Our next meeting will be at 6:00 p. m. on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the City Hall in Fort Calhoun.
