Members, Term, Compensation (Ordinance No. 598, Section
1-1001)
The
City Council shall appoint the Board of Park Commissioners.
The Board shall consist of five (5) members, who can be residents of the
City or such persons who own real estate within the City limits of the City but
do not necessarily reside within the city limits.
The members shall be appointed by the Mayor and City Council and shall
serve a term of three years.
The Board shall serve without compensation and may be required, in the
discretion of the City Council, to give a bond in a sum set by resolution of the
City Council and conditioned upon the faithful performance of their duties.

Meeting Schedule
The Park Board meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of
February through October at City Hall.
Park Board Description
The Park Board is in charge of all parks and recreational facilities
belonging to the City. The Board establishes appropriate rules and
regulations for the management, use and operation of the same. All
employees of the City doing work in or for the city park are under the
supervision and direction of the Board. All actions of the Board shall be
subject to the review and control of the City Council.
