Blair Rotary Student of the Month
Erin Reeh, daughter of Shane and Tammy Reeh, was recently honored as the Blair Rotary Student of the Month for April. Erin has been involved in a number of activities including FBLA, Spanish Club, B-Club, Soccer and Volleyball. Academically Erin has been in the National Honor Society, Freshman Mentor and Honor Roll (7 consecutive semesters). As a Blair Rotary Student of the Month Erin will receive a $300 scholarship next fall. Erin plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University next fall majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish with an endorsement in coaching.
Notes from the May 19th Meeting - Program Chair - Dave Waite
Dave's program was a no-show. President Sonny led the group in a discussion on the following topics:
Foundation - club members are encouraged to consider putting aside 50 cents per day, 5 days per week to support the Every Member Every Year effort
Ellen Ryder - Ellen is recovering from hip surgery and is doing great, please keep her and Ray in your thoughts and prayers
District Newsletter - please see the recent District newsletter which details the performance of the club during the past year; the club was recognized as the outstanding medium sized club in the District, earned the Presidential Citation and achieved a ranking of 6 in the District's 46 clubs
Aebleskiver Breakfast - final results are still being tabulated, invoices for placemats were distributed at the meeting; if you are interested in leading the breakfast next year please let a club officer know
Golf Tournament - the committee is working on a new twist to the traditional tournament, an announcement will be made soon, please keep the 19th of June open, we'll need everyone's support
Wine Event - the event will be held in October, if you are interested in helping out please contact a club officer
