at the Rivers Wild Golf Course - please reserve this date on your calendar. We
will need a number of members to help and everyone is encouraged to form a team.
A membership application has been received from Rev. Mike Knutson, Senior
Pastor at First Lutheran Church, if anyone has a reason for not granting
membership please contact a club officer as soon as possible.
Notes from May 6th - Program Chair - Tom Sternberg
Funding for the trail system has been secured through federal matching grants. The federal government puts in 80% with the NRD providing 10% and the City of Blair providing the remaining 10%. During the Gateway to the West celebration there is a Fun Run/Walk event with proceeds going to the trail project. If you would like more information about the trail system please contact the City of Blair or Dave Nannen at Nannen-Harte Physical Therapy.
Rotary Question of the Week
With the assistance of Rotary, how many children have been immunized against polio since the 1980's?
Rotary Fact of the Week
(from the RI or District Website)
Decades ago, polio outbreaks were a constant threat around the world.
After the introduction of polio vaccines by Jonas Salk and Albert Sabin and a
steadfast immunization effort, these outbreaks became part of history in most of
the world.
Yet many still live under the threat of polio, which is why Rotary and its
global partners are committed to reaching every child with the vaccine and
ending this disease worldwide.
Major gains have been made in the global fight against polio:
