Using Auto-dial

Using the Auto-Dial feature could be a time savings device so that you do not have to DIAL separately every time you want to connect to the Internet or check your e-mail.

If you want your internet connection to automatically dial when you click on an internet application . . .

  • Click on Start, then Settings, and choose the Control Panel (Figure 1).

  • Double click on the Internet Options Icon and click on the Connection tab at the top (Figure 2).

  • Under Dial-Up Settings, highlight the dial-up connection that is listed in the window and then click on the Set Default button if it is not already selected (Figure 2).

  • Next, there should then be three choices right below the Dial-Up Settings.  You need to choose the one that says Always Dial My Default Connection.

These steps will help to ensure that the next time you click on any Internet icon it will bring up the dialing confirmation screen to dial.
