Open "My
Computer" from your desktop

Open "Dial Up
Networking"

You should have a
connection in here for your local service, right-click that icon

Choose Properties (Figure
2).

Click the Server Type
tab at the top of the next window. If you do not have a Server Types
tab, click on the Server Types button near the bottom of the same
window (Figure
3).

For the advanced
options, only "Enable software compression" should be
checked.

For the allowed
network protocols, the only one that should be checked should be
"TCP/IP". Make changes as needed.

Click the "TCP/IP
Settings" button.

For the top two
options, "Server assigned IP address" should be checked.
Make changes as needed.

For the next two
options, "Server assigned name server addresses" should be
checked. Make changes as needed (Figure
4).

The bottom two options
should both be checked. Make changes as needed.

Click OK on the next
three screens.

Close the Dial-Up
Networking window and the My Computer window.
