What do I do when I receive junk
mail?
The best
answer to this question is to simply delete the message. This ensures
that spammers will have no way of knowing you read their message, and is
the most time-efficient way of dealing with SPAM.
You can
also try to add the message sender to a block list, or report them to
established online authorities that deal with SPAM. However, these
methods have disadvantages as well: with the amount of SPAM most people
receive on a daily basis, you would be spending all your time online
reporting or blocking SPAM.
Another
option is to report messages to our technical support team if you see a
trend of the same or similar messages in your inbox. We may be able to
filter out these messages.
We do not
recommend that you click on the “unsubscribe” links on the bottom of the
messages. Most often these are what are called dead links (links that
try to redirect you to a non-existent page). Even if the link is
correct, spammers often will remove you from their own list only to sell
your email address to other companies who send SPAM, thus ensuring that
you receive even more SPAM.
