 Web Site Publishing Instructions

FTP is a protocol used for transferring files back and forth between computers.  It stands for File Transfer Protocol.  The most common utility for doing this is WS_FTP95.  Your may get it off of download sites like shareware.com.  You can use whatever FTP program you want.

Remember your default opening page MUST be named default.htm ! ! !

Web Hosting Customers
If you use FTP to publish your website, you need to use Host Name of FTP.YOURDOMAIN.COM (YourDomain.com reflects whatever the name of your website is)

Dialup, DSL or Cable Modem Customers
If you are a Dial-up, DSL or Cable modem customer and you are publishing to your 5 megabyte free directory like http://www.ABBNebraska.net/JohnDoe, then you use the Host Name FTP.ABBNebraska.NET.

* * * ATTENTION * * *
ALL users need to include the domain name
of HTLDOM in conjunction with your user name!
See the illustrations below for examples from WS_FTP.
You can use any FTP program you wish.

*Note that the only difference between these 2 boxes is the last box has an area to type in your domain name, the first one does not and the HTLDOM needs to go before   That is and will always be HTLDOM.

Web Site Size
Upon request, we have a small file that will help you keep track of the size of your website.  It is important that you keep track of the size of your web site or free 5 megabyte directory.  We do not do this for you.  Anything over your allotted amount will be billed to $1 a megabyte over.
