If you’ve ever had a problem with your Internet connection, you know
how frustrating this can be. When problems arise, all of us at
HunTel.net want to help fix the trouble as quickly as possible. To do
this, try following the steps listed below before you call our tech
support.
1. If you’re having a problem with your Internet connection, please try
restarting the computer. It is surprising how many problems this simple
step resolves. It will probably be the first thing a technician asks you
to do.
2. If a restart didn’t help, be at the computer and have it running. If
you’re a high-speed Internet customer, you should have the program open
that you’re calling about. If you connect using a dial-up modem, then
your have your computer on, but not logged on when you call unless you
have a separate phone line for the Internet.
3. Know what programs you’re using. If you’re not sure, click on the
“Help” button on the menu bar. You’ll see an option titled “About” for
the program. Choose the “About” button and a description of the program
will open up. This should tell you the name of the program and what
version you’re using.
4. If the computer gave you any error messages, write them down. These
can be important clues in discovering what the problem is.
5. Try to outline the problem. Is it an e-mail problem, a problem with
your browser or are you unable to connect?
6. Be ready to describe when the problem arose. Was it after a
thunderstorm or after you installed new software? The more information
you provide, the better the chance of a quick resolution.
7. At this point, call technical support at 533-5777 or 1-888-491-9115.
We’ll be happy to help. This free service is available seven days a week
from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
