Get more out of football season with the World Wide Web

Tailgating, football widows, and Monday morning quarterbacks are here again, so that means it’s football season! If you’re a football fan, the Internet offers a number of ways to follow your favorite team.

First, if you need to know what time the big game starts or if a team’s game is televised, visit www.HunTelCableVision.com. Click on the link titled “Football on HunTel CableVision.” This will take you to a page with links to the television schedules of all of the major broadcasters of college and professional football.

Second, you can use the Internet to order tickets as most colleges and all professional teams have on-line ticket sales. You can also shop for bargains at on-line sites such as eBay.

Finally, many colleges and pro football teams now provide broadcasts of their games over the Internet. Even if your team’s game isn’t on television or a local radio station, often you can still catch a live broadcast. Some teams require you to pay a fee to listen in, while many provide the service free of charge. For details, visit your team’s web site.

If you find that you enjoy listening to games over the Internet, you may want to consider subscribing to high-speed Internet access if you haven’t already. Internet broadcasts will work with a dial-up connection, but with high-speed Internet access, the broadcast will be clearer and more reliable. Plus, high-speed Internet access doesn’t tie-up your phone line so you won’t miss any important calls. For more information about high-speed Internet, give us a call at 426-6200 or 1-888-262-2661.
