Standard Features with all our
websites
There are certain features you
should expect in a well designed web site.
HunTel.net Web Design follows a set of industry
standards that help you attain the full benefit of your web
presences.
Customized Web Presences
Content The
single most important element of your website is the
information you present. You are the one who
understands your mission and purpose and it's important you
communicate it clearly. You will want to develop all
the detailed information that you want your visitors to know
for all the subsequent pages in your site. The content
that you have written will be incorporated into the design
of your web site. Submit your text either by disk or
email. Custom content development, copy writing are all available as an
expanded feature.
Website Description
Statement
As you develop this information, be sure to write a brief
and descriptive summary statement that tell your story in
one or two sentences. This description will be used in the
Meta tags for your site and is what potential viewers will
see when they find your site using most popular search
engines.
Meta Tags Imbedded in the programming
code of your web pages are descriptive statements and
keywords that allow many search engines to find your site.
Web Page Titles All web
pages will be titled with page subject and company name.
Company Name or Logo Your company name, logo and
address should appear on each of the web pages in your site.
This helps identifies who you are and
reinforces your presence on the web.
URL Your website address (URL) should appear on your home page. This provides access to those who may see a printed copy
of your web information.
Email address and link On each page, your email
address and email link appear to provide a way to get
immediate feedback from your audience.
Interactive Web Navigation
Home Page Your
site must be easy for people to move through. The home
page is often the first impression visitors have of your
site (and often of your company.) This page should
clearly indicate the main subject of the site, highlighting
what is most important and provide critical information. Your
home page serves as an information and menu center for the
rest of your web site.
Page Links Content is often organized
into logical categories so that the visitor finds the
information they need within one to three clicks.
Generally a standard navigational menu is established and used
on each of the web site pages.
Up to ten external links
On all of the basic web design packages offered by
HunTel.net, you can have up to ten external links
to other websites. Additional links can be designed
into your website as an
expanded feature.
Standard Navigation Site navigation is
conducted through link menus and text links that are easily
updated and fixable to expand. Specialized navigation systems such
as drop down menus, site map menus, etc. can be designed into your website as an
expanded feature.
Page/site design and layout
Page Size
All pages constructed by HunTel.net Web
Design will be designed to be viewed on monitors ranging in
size from 14 to 21 inches. We'll strive to build pages that
require minimal scrolling to view the page's content.
On pages that
require vertical scrolling, text columns will be used to
improve readability.
Text Columns It's difficult to read a long text
line on a computer monitor. That's why newspaper columns are
narrow and paragraphs short. For readability,
text columns will maintain a reasonable width rather than
stretching across the width of a large, high resolution
monitor.
Load Speed Web site pages should load fast. Our
standard target loading time is no more than
six seconds to load using a 56K connection for the main
pages such as the home page and product pages.
Visual Theme
Logos, images, colors and fonts make up the graphic layout
of your web site. This graphic elements provide site unity and the
variations of that theme help distinguish deferent pages
with-in a multi-level site. A standard theme also
helps visitors know that they are still at the same site and
also helps reduce download time when going from one page on
the site to another by reusing graphics images.
Web-Safe Colors Generally, your web site will
be developed with Web-safe colors. These are the 216 standard
colors that most computer monitors can display without
distortion.
Graphics Your company logo or promotion
pictures can be integrated into your web design by
submitting graphics in digital form (gif, jpg, bmp, tiff, & png formats)
or let our graphic designers find appropriate stock
graphics. Custom graphics, image editing, logo design,
scanning and digital photography are all available as an
expanded feature.
