Garlic Rice with Peas

1 1/2-2 cups frozen peas, thawed
2 cups instant brown rice
2-1/4 cups water
1 vegetable bouillon cube
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 clove garlic
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup tamari
1 tablespoon tahini

Bring water and salt to boil and stir in bouillon cube. Add rice and reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes. While rice is simmering, saute garlic and onion in olive oil until softened and browned. Combine rice, peas and onion/garlic mixture; add tamari and tahini and stir.
