Place all ingredients except onions in the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select the basic/white cycle and use the medium or light crust setting. Do not use the delay cycle. Add onions at the beep signal or 5 minutes before the last kneading cycle ends. Cool bread on a wire rack. Makes a two pound (16 slice) loaf.
