Pasta Almondine

1 12 ounce package fettuccine or linguine
1 cup blanched sliced almonds
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup soy margarine, divided
1/4 cup green onions, sliced
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 cup soy Parmesan, grated

Cook pasta according to package directions. In a skillet, slowly sauté almonds and garlic in 1 tablespoon of margarine until almonds are lightly browned. Add remaining margarine, green onions and basil. Cook slowly until butter is melted. Drain pasta; combine with almond butter mixture and cheese. Toss and serve immediately. Makes 6-8 servings.
