Fish is Fish is a book by Leo Lionni. For the full experience see if you can find a copy and read it.

If you can't find a copy, then that is alright. I will explain enough about the story that you will be able to answer the question: How does the fish's description of birds, cows, and people relate to the way that people learn science?

If you didn't find a copy of this book, then here is a quick summary and an illustration from the book to help you answer this question.

Summary:

A minnow and a tadpole grew up together in a pond. One day the tadpole began to change. When fish realized that tadpole would become a frog, he wanted the frog to describe what life outside of the pond was like. After the frog explored the world it returned and described birds, people, and cows. Below is the picture that the fish imagined for each.
